Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how DarkBlue Apps ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the mobile application Bible Indonesia Alkitab Bahasa (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Information We Collect
Ask Divine (AI) Conversations
When you use the Ask Divine feature, the text of your questions and the related conversation context are sent to our backend service to generate a response. If you use optional voice input, speech is transcribed using your device's on-device speech recognition (provided by Apple); we receive the resulting text, not raw audio.
Device & Usage Data
To keep the App reliable and improve it, we and our analytics providers collect limited technical and usage information, such as app launches, feature interactions, share actions, crash and diagnostic data, device type, operating system version, and general app performance metrics. This is collected through Google Firebase (Analytics and crash reporting).
Push Notification Token
If you enable notifications, a device push token is generated and shared with our push provider, OneSignal, and Apple Push Notification service (APNs), so we can deliver notifications such as reminders and app updates. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
Reels (Video Feed)
The App includes a Reels video feed you can watch for devotional content. Viewing videos does not require an account or any personal information; we only collect the limited usage and diagnostic data described elsewhere in this policy to keep the feature working.
Advertising Data & Consent
The App may display advertising through Google Mobile Ads (AdMob). Where required (for example, in the EEA/UK), we use the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request your consent before serving personalized ads. Advertising partners may use device and advertising identifiers as described in their own policies. Premium (ad-free) users are not shown ads.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide, operate, and maintain the App and its features
- To generate responses in the Ask Divine feature
- To send notifications you have opted into
- To measure usage, diagnose problems, and improve the App
- To display advertising and manage ad consent
- To comply with legal obligations
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to operate the App:
- Service providers who process data on our behalf under agreements (for example, our backend hosting, Google/Firebase, OneSignal, and Google AdMob).
- Legal reasons — when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users, the public, or DarkBlue Apps.
4. Third-Party Services
The App relies on the following third-party services, which have their own privacy policies:
- Google (Firebase, AdMob, User Messaging Platform) — policies.google.com/privacy
- Apple (Speech Recognition, APNs) — apple.com/legal/privacy
- OneSignal (push notifications) — onesignal.com/privacy_policy
5. Advertising & Consent
Where required by law, you will be asked to make a consent choice before personalized ads are shown, via the Google User Messaging Platform. You can change your ad consent choice where that option is made available in the App or your device settings. Purchasing a premium (ad-free) option, where offered, removes ads.
6. Data Retention & Deletion
We retain personal information only as long as needed to provide the App and meet legal requirements. To request deletion of any personal data we hold about you, contact us at darkblueapps@gmail.com. Some information may be retained where required by law or for legitimate business purposes.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
8. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal information, and to object to certain uses. You can:
- Control notification, microphone, and other permissions in your device settings
- Manage or withdraw ad consent where offered
- Contact us to exercise your privacy rights or request deletion of your data
We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. International Data Transfers
Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own, including by our service providers. Where required, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
